Brain Break

Welcomes You

A Yoga Therapy Studio for the neurodiverse, on the spectrum,

for children and teens with any and all abilities!

THE APPROACH

I specialize in helping children and teens with diverse needs and complex backgrounds who are struggling with regulation, control, and focus by using yoga as sensory integration to support the brain and nervous system! My clinical work involves working closely with Functional Medicine doctors and Developmental Pediatricians.

I use different holistic therapeutic modalities such as research-based yoga and mindfulness strategies, nervous system regulation tools and technology, sensory aids and supports, music and sound therapy to aid in mind-body connection to help regulate your child's nervous system.  Overtime, the benefits of Yoga become apparent that support their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs while empowering parents to seek necessary supports and accommodations to help their kids thrive within a supportive and inclusive environment whether at home and in school.

Additionally, based on my many years of experience working with children with complex needs, yoga therapeutic modalities work best in tandem with Functional Medicine that takes care of the metabolic and mitochondrial function that may affect learning and brain function, as well as the root cause of a patient's condition such as hidden infections, toxins loads, and nutritional deficiencies. In our practice, we see that when the brain is supported, this enhances efficacy of brain therapy trainings.

WHAT IS YOGA THERAPY?

A fun and interactive approach using developmentally appropriate therapeutic tools to make yoga fun and accessible for children of all abilities, while working towards specific milestones and goals of your Developmental Pediatrician and your Functional Medicine doctor!

PRAISE

We love to listening to parents' feedback!

"When we started, my child was really very sensitive to certain sounds and during the start of the session there were a lot of running and jumping. These were really addressed during the session. He has also become more playful and the stimming is reduced."

"My child always looks forward going to class, even if she has to get up earlier than usual. I can still remember her first day in class, wherein she felt overwhelmed and easily worked up. It was a new and unfamiliar place, with an unfamiliar person. But after a few minutes or so, after T. Nic talked to her, she calmed down and was ready to attend her class. Since then, Saturday mornings are filled with excitement for this kid, because it means meeting up with Teacher Nic.
Another highlight: at the start, she detests rain and thunder, now, she loves rainy weather!"

"Teacher Nic has been very supportive all throughout our SSP journey and she explains very well all the things that are happening to my son during SSP. She also made sure to provide resources and support that she believes will help my son benefit more from the SSP."
